This past Monday I shared a few minutes with my husband that I will never forget. What happened? Simply put, it was an incredible moment in time that we shared together and one that we will never forget. After working the morning away, I came downstairs to spend a few minutes with my husband before he had to start getting ready for work. As I sat on the couch, I all of a sudden yelled, .

After waiting for a tiny bit, he walked back over to the counter. I started laughing and said, . I asked my husband to sit down next to me and wait it out for another kick. The baby was being super active and I was determined to have him feel his baby move for the first time. I didn't want to say anything because I wanted him to figure out and notice the kicks on his own. I looked at him and saw his eyes light up again. His eyebrows raised as he looked at me and asked, . He couldn't believe it. He was actually feeling his baby move. And then bam. The infamous third kick happened. The third kick was the movement that made my husband jump. The third kick was the movement that really hit it home for my husband. He immediately stood up, walked away, and took a deep breath. I immediately starting laughing at his unforgettable reaction. My husband finally felt his baby move. My husband finally felt what he's been wanting for such a long time. My husband finally felt something I've been wanting to share with him for weeks. I asked my husband if he wanted to feel the baby again. He told me that he was a bit hesitant since he was still overwhelmed by the events that took place earlier in the week. After thinking about it for a few seconds, he reached over and placed his hand on my stomach. We laid there for a few minutes in silence as we focused on Nugget's movements and we couldn't help but look forward to all of the special moments to come.*I'm 2. Cherry Brown Butter Bars. For whatever reason, those bright, cheery bananas always lure me over to them and I end up grabbing a massive bundle. I love to display the bananas in my kitchen because they are an easy snack to peel open and enjoy. Plus, they just look so friendly and add a bit of color and freshness to the kitchen. However, there's a downfall when it comes to bananas. Since it's just my husband and me who live in our house, we can never seem to keep up with the aging process of the bananas that we buy. As more and more spots begin to appear on the bananas, I find myself becoming anxious about the whole banana situation. Yes, I'm weird like that. I get anxious about aging bananas. Because I want to be sure that they are enjoyed. I wake up craving my daily bowl of cereal. I have to admit, I'm slightly obsessed with cereal. There are mornings when I slice up a banana and add it to my cereal. However, there are also some mornings when I skip that whole process. I will also add bananas to smoothies since they have a tendency to kick the flavor up a notch, as well as add a certain kind of creaminess to the smoothie recipe. There's just something that screams summer about a banana berry smoothie, am I right or am I right? I also have noticed that my husband will cut up a banana and enjoy the slices when he sits down to eat his lunch. With all of this banana eating in one household, one would think that we would be able to eat the entire bundle week after week. However, sadly, that is sometimes not the case. All I knew was that I wanted to bake today and I had to include the bananas. The poor, brown, almost trash- worthy bananas ... I had white chocolate chips in the freezer. Why not combine the two? And combine is what I did. Do you run into the same banana problem as us? Banana and White Chocolate Chip Muffins. Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups all- purpose flour. Directions: Preheat oven to 3. Grease muffin cups or line with muffin liners. Combine the all- purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl. Mash the bananas in a separate bowl and then beat together the bananas, sugar, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Combine banana mixture with the flour mixture until just moistened. Fold in the white chocolate chips. Spoon the batter into prepared muffin cups. Bake for 1. 8 to 2. With an athletic body (yes, I was a tomboy growing up and, to this day, I love to play sports), watching my body transform to create a nice and cozy home for baby Nugget has been quite an eye- opening transformation. Before becoming pregnant, I knew that a woman's body went through all sorts of changes when carrying a baby .. However, I didn't understand the changes until I started to go through them. I also didn't realize just how quickly a body changes after becoming pregnant. With the baby growing at such an exponential rate throughout a pregnancy, it's quite amazing to see just how quickly a woman's body can adapt to such a life- changing experience. As soon as we found out that I was pregnant, he couldn't wait until my baby bump started showing. Every morning, he would look at my stomach, hoping and wishing that my baby bump would start to show. I had to calmly inform him that I was going to get plenty big .. Every day, I would promise him that I was, indeed, eating enough. Every day, he would grow frustrated that my baby bump wasn't getting big enough. And then it happened .. I was pretty excited about it too. It makes me so happy. It truly is amazing what a woman's body can handle and go through, as well as what it can adapt to in such a short amount of time. I'm still in shock that a woman can go through an event like this and I look forward to experiencing all of the changes to come as baby Nugget continues to wiggle and move. Those little movements are simple reminders from Nugget saying, . Mix the ingredients together until combined. Place the dough in the freezer for 1. Remove from the freezer and form the dough into 1- inch balls. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 8- 1. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the cookies to sit on the baking sheet for two minutes. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack. Sprinkle the cookies with sea salt and allow to cool. Did I ever crave chocolate prior to the pregnancy? My husband is the chocoholic of the couple. Whenever we would order ice cream before the pregnancy, he would always linger near the chocolate bins while I perused the strawberry and vanilla flavors. Whenever I would bake treats, he would always request chocolate on top of chocolate on top of cookie dough (with chocolate chips) on top of chocolate. I preferred the fruit tart route. Could we have been more opposite in this category? I don't so. Then, Nugget entered our lives and introduced me to the wonderful world of chocolate. Yes, it truly is a wonderful world. Now, whenever my husband and I get ice cream, you will most likely find us huddled together, trying to decide what chocolate- filled treat will satisfy our tastebuds. But then again, maybe the baby is a mix between his/her Daddy and my side of the family. Why do I say that? Well, when I was chatting with my Dad the other day, he was asking all about the pregnancy and I told him that I was beginning to develop an insatiable sweet tooth. Knowing my tastes and preferences, he knew that this was a major development for me. This whole sweet tooth talk soon turned into a little story told by my Dad. This was the story that really opened my eyes and solidified the thought that Nugget is definitely a good mix of his/her Daddy and generations of my family. What I didn't know was that my Dad had quite the enormous sweet tooth when he was younger. Oh, and my Grandpa (his Father) also had a huge sweet tooth. I honestly had no idea. Hershey's, black licorice .. The first place that my Dad's friends would go to in the house would be my Grandpa's candy cupboard. And, as if the candy cupboard wasn't enough, because my Dad had such a sweet tooth, he would ride up to the local drugstore with his lawn mowing money in his pocket and load up on sweets at the store.
